After
a sellout of Union Lofts, Bridgeport's first luxury loft condo project,
Tandem Developers has broken ground on Bridgeport Station Lofts, a new
mid-rise in the growing Southwest Side neighborhood. The
project, at the corner of 35th and Morgan, includes 66 condos in a masonry
building with a steel frame. Around 75 percent of the units already have
been sold, according to Sandi Lent, a partner in Garrison Partners, the
exclusive sales and marketing agents for Bridgeport Station. "We're
out of the ground and we're anticipating completion about a year from
now," said Charles Lerman, project manager for Tandem Developers.
"Currently, we are working on the frame, exterior wall and the elevator
and stair shafts." Although
buyers already have claimed about three-fourths of the units at Bridgeport
Station Lofts, the first major new-construction condominium development
in Bridgeport, many of the best two-bedroom corner units are available,
according to Lent. "We
saved some of the best units for last, with a variety of plans to suit
any buyer," Lent said. Pre-construction
prices at the development range from $196,900 to $287,900 for condos with
one bedrooms, one bedroom plus den or two bedrooms. Units
have private balconies or terraces, ceramic baths, GE appliances, red
oak floors, spiral ductwork, ceiling heights of 10 feet and many skyline
views. Designed by architects FitzGerald & Associates, the four-story
building features a brick and limestone façade and a lobby with
a closed-circuit TV security system. Occupancy of the first residences is scheduled for early 2006, Lerman said.
